TRANSCRIPT

Assalam alaykum wa rahmatulah wa barakatu. My name is Muhammad Elmarouk. I am one of Shaykh Hamza’s students, and I am here to talk a little bit about why I love Shaykh Hamza so much. 

At fourteen I went and studied in Mauritania. I wanted to memorize the Quran in Mauritania. I think it was in Mauritania that my desire to try and follow and pursue the deen grew in my heart, so I went to Jordan in search of a teacher who could teach me and take me on this path through the Islamic Sciences, and I was lucky enough to start studying with Shaykh Hamza right away and immediately I fell in love with him as a teacher. 

There are two aspects about Shaykh Hamza which I would like to highlight which makes him special to me as a teacher which has helped him change my life not in terms of just who I am but also in terms of my religious academia and that would be: number one--Shaykh Hamza's teaching style and method- Subhanallah! Shaykh Hamza probably has the easiest teaching style and method that I've ever learned from. He breaks down everything that he is going over very clearly and precisely and you get the simplest of proofs.He doesn't overwhelm you with difficult proofs and a lot of difficult information and whatnot. He gives you the simplest of stuff and he makes all difficult- you know- you can say- complex arguments and proofs seem very simple and straightforward mashallah. He's made all of my studies extremely enjoyable. Just learning from him... he doesn't go too quickly and he also doesn't go too slowly so that he's boring you. He teaches at a nice pace. He has a very nice voice and his teaching just hits your heart in terms of the knowledge which he is giving you because Subhanallah Shaykh Hamza has an ocean of knowledge Mashallah. I feel like every class I take from him I take a hundred times more than I would if I were just to read the book itself. He brings in countless different points ‏and topics and subjects from all other sciences from the Islamic studies and he creates a magnificent and perfect picture of every science which he teaches.

The second reason why I'd say that Shaykh Hamza is an amazing teacher is the hal, the state and feeling that you get from  learning from him, mashallah. Shaykh Hamza is a Mubarak person mashallah. He touches your heart and changes you spiritually and your character changes  and it gets better just from sitting with him mashallah. How humble he is, the way he addresses his students, the way he interacts with other people- he is a walking role model which I have been lucky enough to take as a role model for the last few years Alhamdulillah. Mashallah, aside from his teaching just sitting in front of him, even if he's not even talking to you-subhanallah you feel like you're benefiting from him in some way and this is why I feel like everyone should learn from Shaykh Hamza.They should sit with Shaykh Hamza if they can't learn from him, and they should try to spend as much time with him as possible because he's a gem, he's a hidden gem, mashallah. He's the best teacher I've ever had and I'm so lucky to have studied from him and I intend inshallah in the future years to continue studying from him and benefiting from his knowledge and his character inshallah.
